PART TIME

Nurse Practitioner (Primary Care)

Femme Women's Wellness, Medical & Cosmetics is looking for a welcoming, organized and professional Nurse Practitioner to provide high quality patient care as a key member of the integrative medical team at our office in North Toronto (Avenue Rd & Lawrence Ave).

This is a full-time position paying $135,000-$165,000 per year.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing comprehensive patient care in conjunction with Physicians as an integral part of the Integrative Medical Team. The Nurse Practitioner will also serve as a liaison between the patient and other members of the team to ensure the highest quality, collaborative care is provided to patients.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver exceptional, professional and friendly patient care to all patients

  • The NP will practice according to the standard and within the scope as outlined in:College of Nurses of Ontario’s “Practice Standards” Nursing Act (1991) and Regulated Health Professions Act (1991)

  • Maintain confidentiality and act in accordance with the professional code of ethics and the policies of Femme

  • Working within the scope of practice of the RN(EC), spend adequate time with each patient to perform a comprehensive health or symptom directed assessment to make a diagnosis or determine required referrals to physicians, specialists, etc. within or outside of Femme

  • Take a holistic approach and work collaboratively and in consultation with other practitioners within (and outside of) the Femme clinic to optimize each patient’s health as defined in the NP scope of practice “Expectation for consultation with physicians”

  • Work within medical directives as established and approved by Femme where necessary or appropriate

  • Uses case management and a care path model for chronic illnesses management in the continuum of care

  • Determine the need for, order and interpret results of screening and diagnostic laboratory tests or imaging, within the scope of RN(EC) practice

  • Keeps complete, accurate and timely records of each patient visit, which will provide information to assist other practitioners within and outside of the Femme clinic in continuing care

  • Use of EMR to thoroughly document patient encounters (Jane and Em)

  • Sees patients at Femme with scheduled and urgent appointments

    QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Council of Ontario University Program in Nursing Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner Program Certificate (or recognized equivalent)

  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as an RN(EC) required

  • Current Membership with NPAO and/or RNAO and evidence of liability insurance

  • B.SC and Master of Science in Nursing required

  • 5+ years of relevant experience required

  • Demonstrated experience in Primary Care Setting, including experience carrying a roster of patients

  • Knowledge and proficiency in current, evidenced-based methods and practices of primary care

  • Excellent organization, research, evaluation, communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills

  • Proficient in computers including MS Office (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Experience with an EMR (Telus and/or Jane)

  • Desire to continuously learn and stay abreast of advancements through courses, workshops and conferences

Cosmetic Medical Assistant/
Laser Technician

Femme is looking for a motivated, positive and organized Cosmetic Medical Assistant/Laser Technician at our office in North Toronto (Avenue Rd & Lawrene Ave). Assisting a Physician, the Cosmetic Medical Assistant/Laser Technician will create an exceptional patient experience and be part of an interdisciplinary team that is focused on providing optimal care for the women of Toronto. This is a permanent full-time position.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE IS/HAS:

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a tight-knit team in a fast-paced environment

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • greeting and escorting patients to treatment rooms

  • prepare patients for and assist with examinations/treatments (including triage)

  • preparation for treatments including but not limited to reconstituting neuromodulators

  • Follow established medical protocols

  • assist during treatments, including optimizing patient comfort and experience during procedures

  • assist with and set up charting for doctor (including photos of patient before and after photos)

  •  use of EMR document patient encounters (Telus and/or Jane)

  • set up and clean up before and after all treatments in treatment rooms

  • maintain clean, tidy treatments room, including sanitizing cosmetic treatment rooms between patients

  • Maintain stock of clinical supplies, including correct storage (such as refrigeration), removal of out-of-date stock and ordering supplies

  • Ensure sterilization and maintenance of clinical equipment

  • Operare lasers and radiofrequency devices while ensuring safety protocols are adhered to and the patient experience is optimized

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1-2 years of post-secondary education in a related field, or equivalent work experience.

  •  An undergraduate or bachelor’s degree in health science, Kinesiology, General Science or Arts is considered an asset.

  • Laser technician certificate considered an asset

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills. Experience in a customer service environment considered an asset

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written)

  • Organized and reliable

  • Proficient in computers (Microsoft Office, EMR such as Telus or Jane)

  • Desire to continuously learn and stay abreast advancements through courses, workshops and conferences
